'09 was so fine.

Here in this part of Florida, the last sunset of 2009 was less than 10 minutes before the New Year's Eve blue moonrise.

I loved 2009. A ton of great firsts and memories. I feel I have grown a great deal personally this year. And I think 2010 has potential to be even better.

I have switched my journal over to a written journal. I quit blogging for a number of reasons. One was that a lot of other people seemed to have quit blogging all at the same time, taking away the interactive part of LJ (i.e. the part that made it so great). And another was that the stuff I want to write about now that I'm out of college is not interesting and/or relevant to anybody but me.

But those who truly love life really shouldn't go without recording it in detail. So that's kind of why one of my New Year's resolutions is to keep the written journal and make entries to it at least three times a week. I still plan on the random updates every now and then as I have been doing so don't expect a huge change. The only change to my LJ has to do with my other resolution, which is to go out with my camera more.

Long story short, don't expect an increase (or decrease) in written entries, but do expect more photo entries.

Happy New Year!

the true purpose of the internet.

I have decided to cut back on my lazy cat's intake of Trader Joe's Thunfisch für Katzen and compensate with a measured dose of dry Premium-Meer zu fangen Katzenfutter. This is because I am a cruel and capricious master. Also I don't trust anything that delicious.

But she seems to love the combination just the same. I'm worried that I've worn out my can opener. Takes a good two minutes of concentrated effort to get a can open, during which the cat gets ever more agitated. "If you can't use a can opener, what good are you?" is what I'm sure she's wondering. Except probably more like "Wenn Sie nicht einen Dosenöffner, was gut gebrauchen sind Sie?"

What a way to ring-in the new year and a new decade*. Not only will it be a full moon the night of the 31st, but also a blue moon.

* Go on, nitpick about the decade starting in 2011, I dare ya.

There are no memories it's okay to forget

This is embarassing to admit, but Fruits Baskets gave me a case of the sniffles and watery eyes. It's so cheesily innocent and sugary, but whatever! Also Hulu now has (or at least now I noticed) Robotech seasons 1 and 2.
